Hazel's Dedication

Phew! What a week this has been. Wednesday we found out that Hazel had an ear infection, so we got her medicated and she was vomiting that night. Its very hard to see such a little baby so sick. Thursday she was better but Raven was starting to get a cold. By Friday afternoon Raven had a fever, so we rushed over to the Dr. because I knew we would need something for the weekend. She too had an ear infection.

We made it to Mother's Day fully medicated, a bit tired, but we were there to dedicate Hazel to the Lord. As I mom I am learning that the hardest part about my job is lifting my girls up to the Lord and giving Him authority over their lives. I know I worry too much, and I think I have total control over them as their mom. I am learning every day to pray for their lives, their choices, their futures, their husbands, etc. I'm a work in progress, but I love my family :)

Last Weekend - Snow and Sun!

Last weekend we went with friends to try to catch the last bit of snow (the first and only snow for our family this past winter). We tried to get Raven on skis, but she wasn't into it. We tried the sled, which was only fun for a couple rides. The big hits were jumping into the snow with Matt, and the slide that Matt created in the snow was a hit (only for Raven). We had a good time with friends...and thanks to Chris and Sara for letting us crash at your place last minute!
On Sunday evening we decided to make the most of the sunshine and warm(ish) weather, so we walked down to the lighthouse at discovery park (which is right by our house). We packed dinner, loaded up the stroller, and headed down to the beach. Raven put her toes in the water, which was totally freezing and threw rocks into the water while Hazel and I watched from a distance.

the last month...

i feel like we have been so busy this last month...filled with activities to burn raven's massive amount of energy, easter, birthday parties, and an occasional day in the yard now that the sun is starting to tease us. here are a bunch of photos to document our fun with friends.
Raven's showing us her moves at gymnastics with friends. The local gymnastics academy has an open gym for tots every weekday...we try to pop in there when its raining and Raven is learning lots of new tricks!

This last one is a story I will remember for a long time. If you look closely you can see that Raven's left eye is a bit bruised. It was darker the day before, but didn't get a good picture of it then. In a chaotic moment in the Willis household, Raven was hanging on the drapes when I wasn't looking. I heard her say "swiiiing" and looked just in time to see her hit her eye on the window sill (seen in the background). It hurt enough where I don't think she'll be doing that again any time soon!

Happy Easter!

We tried to get some cute photos in their pretty dresses (thanks for giving us these dresses Lydia! They are so pretty!). The cards were stacked against us with the girls getting wild, the time to leave for church creeping up, and the batteries on both of our cameras died. We tried our best and got a couple cute shots. Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we went to the Easter egg hunt at the community center. There were lots of kids and a ton of eggs. The 0-3 age group took over the tennis courts, and Raven quickly learned that she wanted all of the eggs in her basket. She has since learned that there are treats inside those eggs :) It was freezing outside, but it was a good time. And of course, this would not be any fun if her friend Eliana wasn't there! They absolutely love each other!
Hazel was also a good sport..missing her morning nap and sitting in the freezing cold..still smiling!
